About

The following is the 4th story I will be writing as Johnathan Embers. A similar theme to the previous three self-published e-books I have written is that they are all stories of redemption. Another commonality is Cotton Creek Cove fellowship. It is a non-denominational place of prayer, study and worship founded by Pastor Kirk Samson. Also known affectionately as Captain Kirk by his friends and family. This nickname stems from his stint as a military chaplain. Both he and the idealistic church he founded have played a small but significant role in my first three stories. In this fourth edition, Captain Kirk, Destiny Knight, Brock Storm, and a new character, Sebastian “Seven” Sallie, will be the main protagonists.

More than a decade earlier, unbeknownst to Seven, he had been destined to be a great messenger for God. But an adulterous wife and a penchant for strong drink led him down a path of self-indulgence and bitterness. Now, it’s been ten years since he discovered in humiliating fashion that his wife had been cheating on him. Seven has become famous due to his podcast ‘The Seven Sallie Showdown.’ It all started as he simply ranted about life, love, religion and politics when he was a radio D.J. Now he has a broadcast listened to by millions. He also has thousands of fans and just as many haters.

Seven starts getting death threats. This situation ends up enlisting the help of his cousin who was a former professional bodyguard, Brock Storm. The problem for Brock is the history he and his cousin have of clashing. The dilemma for Seven is Pastor Kirk Samson meddling in his affairs, especially when Seven finds himself drawn to an intriguing psychic. Another problem for the two cousins is getting entangled with a demon possessed woman and her deliverance.

Warning #1: The following story is without an editor. So forgive me if it seems raw and sloppy by times, maybe even often. However, the whole point is the story, not whether or not it is always punctuated correctly or worded just so. I’m just a guy who likes to write stories, and this is a simple, no cost avenue to do so.

Warning #2: My wife has pointed out to me that there are some elements of my previous books that might make some people uncomfortable. For example: In my first book, one of the main characters has a secret, embarrassing mishap with a condom that only he and his former girlfriend’s father know about. In my second book, a main character is a former porn star and the “heroes” of the story  do battle with a satanic cult. And in my third book, a main character is a dominatrix prostitute.

It is never my intention to offend or be a stumbling block. I want my books to be an inspiration and a blessing. I don’t use profanity and I believe I stop passion before it becomes illicit. However, maybe I don’t for somebody who is even more conservative than I. But I do like to explore sexual themes. It is a major facet of human nature. I believe the culture in general has vastly separated from the blessing God intended intimacy to be. The perversion of sex has also become a worldwide, multibillion dollar industry. My ultimate goal is to do a tiny part to reverse that. I try to promote old fashion, Biblical values with my characters  as they deal with modern society’s pressures and temptations.

Lastly, I hope you enjoy this new, ongoing saga. I will post new chapters as often as possible. Thank you and may God Bless!
